Ketamine Infusion is administered intravenously in low-dose 45-minute infusions facilitated by a skilled practitioner. Low-dose infusions provide many patients with fast-acting benefits to their mood, without side effects or hallucinations. Ketamine has demonstrated effectiveness for those struggling with treatment resistant depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, chronic pain, fibromyalgia and postpartum depression. Ketamine is effective for treatment-resistant depression because it targets areas of the brain that other medications do not reach, and that have been under-functioning due to chronic depression and mental health challenges.
Spravato (Esketemine) is a nasal spray administered in our care and used for the treatment of treatment resistant depression. Esketemine is taken in conjunction with an antidepressant medication and has been shown to decrease depressive symptoms at four weeks, over and above reductions shown in antidepressant medications alone.
